Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A Copelf account (sign up here)
  • A modern web browser (Chrome recommended)
  • The Copelf browser extension (available on the Chrome Web Store) — required only if you want to record directly from your browser

Two Ways to Create a Workflow

Copelf offers two methods to capture your browser workflow:

Record your screen using any screen recording tool, then upload the video file to Copelf.

Supported formats: MP4, WebM, MOV

Maximum file size: 300 MB

Maximum duration: 15 minutes

Install the Copelf browser extension from the Chrome Web Store and record your workflow directly from the browser. The extension captures your actions and sends the recording to Copelf automatically.

Create Your First Workflow

Navigate to copelf.com and sign in to your account.

Start a New Workflow

From your dashboard, click New Workflow and choose your recording method — upload a video file or start a browser extension recording.

Upload or Record

If uploading a video: Select your screen recording file (MP4, WebM, or MOV, up to 300 MB and 15 minutes).

If using the extension: Click the record button in the Copelf extension, perform your browser task, then stop recording.

Add Notes for AI (Optional)

Before analysis begins, you can provide optional context in the "Notes for AI" field (up to 1,000 characters). This helps the AI better understand your intent — for example, explaining which fields are variable or what the expected outcome should be.

AI Analysis

Copelf processes your recording through several stages:

  1. Preparing — Setting up the analysis pipeline
  2. Extracting — Identifying operations from the video
  3. Building — Generating the RITSU workflow manifest with steps and variables
  4. Validating — Verifying each step is executable
  5. Saving — Persisting the workflow
  6. Completed — Your workflow is ready

Review Your Workflow

Once analysis is complete, review the generated steps. Each step will be one of five action types:

  • Navigate — Opens a URL
  • Click — Clicks a UI element
  • Fill — Types text into an input field
  • Select — Chooses a dropdown option
  • Agent — AI performs autonomous multi-step execution

You can adjust execution modes per step: Auto (AI operates), Manual (you operate), or Approval (AI pauses for your confirmation).

Run Your Workflow

Click Run to execute the workflow. The run is delivered to the connected Copelf browser extension and executed in your browser session. Track progress with run statuses and per-step screenshots.

Tips for Better Results

Record clearly — perform actions at a steady pace and avoid unnecessary scrolling or window switching. Use the "Notes for AI" field when your workflow involves dynamic data or ambiguous interactions. Keep recordings short and focused on a single task. After analysis, review the generated variables and adjust their types or default values as needed.
